Jagten på ægtheden – hunt for the real

Today the Danish daily Information brings an article on the need for authenticity by Lasse Lavrsen. He called me a few days ago when I was visiting Alberto Alessi in Crusinallo di Omegna to learn more about Alessi as I’m writing about the company and their corporate museum in my book. Lasse was looking for reasons why everyone is searching for authenticity across cultures and genres. Here is one quote I approved:

“Autenticitet knytter sig til tæt til vores identifikation med virksomheder og derfor er det en hjørnesten i enhver moderne virksomhed, at den spejler vores ønske om autenticitet. Produktet bliver blot et symbol på firmaet. Det handler om at kunne se identiteten bag produktet. At finde firmaets autenticitet og lade den skinne igennem produktet,” siger Nikolaj Stagis.
